T27738 70-1/2" x 1/4" x .025" x 10 TPI Raker Bandsaw Blade
An economical 70-1/2" carbon steel raker blade for smooth cutting.
Raker blades are the most common type of bandsaw blade, have regularly spaced teeth, and are known for general-purpose cutting. They perform best cutting thin materials, leaving a fine finish. The orientation of the raker blade has one tooth going to the left, one to the right, followed by a straight tooth with the pattern repeating.
Width is an important factor when considering a new blade. The typical range is as small as 1/8" wide to 3/4" wide. This 1/4" wide blade is great for contour sawing with a minimum radius of 5/8". For resaw cutting, you will want to fit the widest blade available for your machine.
Typically, there are more teeth per inch for narrower blades compared to wider blades. We sell these blades in 10, 14, and 18 TPI versions. The 10 TPI cuts faster than 14 TPI and 18 TPI blades. The more teeth per inch on the blade, the smoother the cut will be.
The flex back blade helps with absorbing the stresses of contour sawing. It is heat-treated at the teeth, leaving the back with more flexibility for movement through the material.
The 70-1/2" length blade fits 10" bandsaws. Choosing the correct blade for your 10" bandsaw can seem like a helpless task. Using the incorrect blade can dramatically affect your bandsaw’s operation. With this explanation, the factors you would select the T27738 70-1/2" x 1/4" x .025" x 10 TPI Raker Bandsaw Blade should make total sense for your needs.
